Laser Tag Terrors

The Christmas present combination of laser tag and karate uniforms turned our boys into trained warriors. Watch out, they work as a team and have no mercy. Their war cry is the same as Duke's ... "Go JOE"!

Time For Listerine

The other day Corbin bonked his nose with his knee while we were rough housing. He began to cry really hard so I knew it hurt for real. My instant reaction when my kids get hurt is to take them and squeeze the hurt out of them and then kiss the injury. Well I grabbed him and gave him a good hard squeeze and then kissed his nose. Through his tears Corbin said, "Mom your kisses make me feel better but your breathe makes my nose stinky." I proceeded to smother his face in kisses and then rinse thoroughly with listerine!

Monkey Bar Man

Photobucket
I have been informed by Cru that the monkey bars are by far what defines you as "cool at school". If you can do the monkey bars you are The Man! So he has diligently practiced the monkey bars and in my opion is The Man! He can outdo me by far and has the callouses to prove it.

Going Private

Hey everyone! Please, oh please send me your email addresses. I'm going to set our family blog to private. I watched a scary segment on the news last night about people who stalk blogs. I'll set it to private in a couple weeks. I have a lot of your emails already but I don't want to leave anyone out! Email me at mystical_batwoman@hotmail.com with your address. Take care!

Halloween Fun!

Halloween came and went! Here are some pictures of our fun! We carved pumpkins for FHE and made up our own scarey stories. Ava was the cutest ladybug EVER! Cru was a BYU football player at school and a (storm shadow) ninja for real halloween...he just couldn't make up his mind. Corbin was batman for our church halloween party and then a BYU football player for real halloween...once again there are too many options in our dress-up bucket. Damon in turn took over Corbin's batman costume. I was a super hero something-or-other with a mask and cape as well. The kids got gobs and gobs of candy. It was so much fun. And now we prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas! Hooray, I think it's legal for me to break out the Bing Crosby Christmas tunes! Later!

Corbinisms

Corbin came home from church today--stood in front of the garage door and said, "Open Seasame........AWWW DANG (in very good Mater voice).
At dinner he proceeded to tell us that his tummy is squishy because he drinks so much water, and if he runs real fast he can hear the water sloshing around.
Later when he found out we were eating scones he asked, "why are we eating peoples heads?" (scones not skulls)
We got some fresh honey from a family in our ward and when Corbin tasted it he promptly stated, "It's the best I never had."
If you could have only seen his face when I told him where honey comes from!

My Unspectacular Quirks

I got tagged by Amy and Jinger to reveal 6 unspectacular quirks about myself. Usually I shy away from this sort of thing but since two of you tagged me I guess that's a sign that I should make these quirks publicly known...that's if you haven't already noticed them.

Unspectacular quirk # 1...........
When I'm sitting in a chair and I have bare feet I try to spread my toes as wide as they will go on the floor. For some reason my toes feel like a unitoe. My little toe curves right next to my other and so on and so forth. I'd rather have flintstone feet.

Unspectacular quirk # 2 ...............
I can't stand eating the little fake rubbery bacon they put on fast food sandwiches. I always take it off. I always order something with bacon because it sounds good on the menu though. Give me a thick slice that's more meat than fat and I'm in heaven with a BLT.

Unspectacular quirk # 3.............
I go on ear cleaning spurts. Sometimes I have an itch to grab a Q-tip 6 times a day!

Unspectacular quirk # 4...............
I totally pace when I'm talking on the phone. I have a racetrack I subconsciously create and follow.

Unspectacular quirk # 5 .................
I can't just walk up the stairs in our house. I have to run, skipping steps or bend over and use my hands too. I guess this has stayed with me since my childhood.

Unspectacular quirk # 6.............
When I'm nervous I let out a nervous laugh after everything I say. My hubby pointed this one out to me and I never noticed it until he said something. Now I realize I do it ALLLLLLL the time. I'm working on that though. Pretty soon you all will think I'm always calm, cool and collected.

Now comes the tagging part. Although I love all sorts of tag games this is the exception. So here it goes Becca, Jamie, Heather, Jennie, Kristine and Kerri. Please don't hate me :-) Now I'm waiting in anticipation!

Fun At Grandma and Grandpa Andreasen's

The fun didn't stop all weekend... sleepovers, yummy food, general conference, egg hunts, playing in the rain and board games galore. We had a great time seeing everyone! On the way home we stopped at a pumpkin patch. The kids picked out their very own pumpkins. The changing leaves in the canyon gave us a scenic ride home!

Fun At Grandma and Grandpa Bryants

For one of our last summer trips of 2008 we went to Idaho to spend a great weekend of fun at Grandma and Grandpa Bryant's! It included a birthday bash for my dad who is now 70! We all pitched in and got him a paddleboat for the reservoir. Chris brought in some sand with the dump truck (which had no brakes...that takes skill) and made a nice beach area too. It was such fun for all of us, especially the grandkids. Great Grandma Nita came up and sat on the beach for a while and enjoyed the festivities with us.
Dad christened the boat with a bottle of sparkling cider naming her "The Black Mesa Schooner". He and the grandkids then took her out on her maiden voyage. Not quite like a river boat but we don't have to worry about rapids or rocks here. ;-) Well, Egan and Mason managed to find some I guess.
Hopefully mom and dad will get some good use out of it...hot dates on the water with creme sodas and the top down! Whoo Hoo!
The rest of the visit we raided the strawberries in the garden, played football, ate yummy food and enjoyed the beautiful home grandma and grandpa have created together!

The Fruits Of Four 10's

Damon started working four 10's this last week. I feel like he's a stranger in our home Monday through Thursday. But there are some definite fruits from his hard labor however...two days of hard playing and one day of relaxation. We spent this last weekend wakeboarding and camping. Our muscles are soar and our nights were restless but we'd do it all over again if we could.

The Climb, Camp, Pedal, Swim Trip

Well thanks to Aunt Laura, Grandma Brenda and let's not forget the 3 M's (Maren, Maddie and Mason) Damon and I were able to get away for 3 days and have a little alone time.

We started the festivities off by visiting the Manti Temple. A rare occasion with three small kids and 1 1/2 drive each way. It was exactly what we needed to put things into perspective and set the tune for our trip.

Then we hit some rock climbing and camping at Maple Canyon, the whole time munching on a bag of red ripe cherries!

The next morning we headed over to Diamond Fork for some mountain biking and hot pots! Then we headed to Provo for some relaxation, shopping and PF Changs (mmm lettuce wraps).

When checking in to our hotel that night Damon was asking what a suite cost. The receptionist said $150. Damon said, "Do you have a "first time away from the kids in 6 years" rate?" The receptionist laughed and gave him the suite for $99! Yahoo! At about midnight we headed to Walmart for some Ben and Jerry's ice cream. (I know our spontaneity is out of control)

The next day we headed over to BYU to pick up a free football poster and schedule. We waved to the team as we drove by! It was a great trip and I personally am more excited to spend every waking moment with my children!
